Lacerta

Lacerta is a Northern Hemisphere constellation otherwise known as the Lizard. It is one of seven constellations introduced by the 17th century astronomer Johannes Hevelius (Wikipedia) and published in Firmamentum Sobiescianum sive Uranographia in 1687. Lacerta remains one of the 88 modern constellations defined by the International Astronomical Union (Wikipedia).

Lacerta (abbrev. = Lac; genitive = Lacertae) covers 201 square degrees or 0.49% of the celestial sphere making it the 68th largest constellation. It contains 68 stars brighter than apparent magnitude 6.5, the brightest star being Alpha Lacertae.
