IC 2391 (Caldwell 85) or Omicron Vel Cluster
IC 2391 or Caldwell 85 (also known as the Omicron Vel Cluster) is an open cluster in the constellation Vela. It has an apparent visual magnitude of 2.5 and its angular diameter is 50 arc-minutes. IC 2391 lies at an estimated distance of 500 light years. The Equinox 2000 coordinates are 08h 40.2m, -53° 04´ which makes IC 2391 a Southern Hemisphere object that is best seen during the winter.
